The war in Lebanon continues, with attacks occurring particularly in the south of the country, forcing more families to flee their homes and deepening the humanitarian crisis. On 7 June alone, approximately 50,000 families were displaced from the southern suburbs of Beirut. Most sought refuge with relatives, in open areas, or in temporary tent settlements, while others were accommodated in collective shelters, mainly in the North Governorate.

The prolonged conflict is having an increasingly severe impact on people’s daily lives. Fuel prices have risen by 85% since the beginning of the year, while school closures and repeated displacement are disrupting children’s access to education and increasing risks to their safety and protection.

The PCPM team in Lebanon responds every day to the needs of families affected by the crisis. In recent days, we delivered hot and cold meals to 13 collective shelters for displaced people in northern Lebanon and provided ready-to-eat (RTE) food kits to more than 4,700 people staying in 58 shelters across the Mount Lebanon region. We also continue to support assistance efforts for displaced people in Tripoli, helping to maintain access to essential services for those most in need.

In the Sahel Akkar region, we completed two rounds of food parcel distributions for newly arrived Syrian families, reaching a total of 3,391 households. At the same time, a shipment of humanitarian aid sent from Poland arrived in Lebanon, strengthening our ongoing response efforts carried out in cooperation with humanitarian partners.

We would like to thank all donors, partners, and supporters of our work. In the face of growing needs, every form of support helps save lives and restore a sense of dignity to people affected by the crisis.

The project “Food assistance in Lebanon for internally displaced persons and newly arriving refugees” is funded by the Polish state budget from Polish Aid programme of the Ministerstwo Spraw Zagranicznych
