GURUGRAM- IndiGo (6E), India’s largest airline, is extending its premium product, IndiGoStretch, to 10 new metro routes in 2025. This decision follows the overwhelming success of IndiGoStretch on the Delhi (DEL) – Mumbai (BOM) route.
The initiative aims to provide business travelers with enhanced comfort and convenience on key metro routes, solidifying IndiGo’s position as a market leader.
IndiGoStretch on 10 New Metro Routes
IndiGoStretch is set to redefine domestic travel by prioritizing passenger comfort on India’s busiest metro routes.
Currently operational on the Delhi (DEL) – Mumbai (BOM) and Delhi (DEL) – Bengaluru (BLR) route, the service will be expanded to Delhi (DEL) – Chennai (MAA) and seven additional metro routes by the end of this year.
By January, all 20 daily flights between Delhi and Mumbai will offer the IndiGoStretch experience, with 15 daily flights between Delhi and Bengaluru adopting the service by March 2025.
The move targets India’s growing demand for premium travel experiences, particularly among business travelers.
IndiGoStretch boasts numerous benefits designed to cater to frequent flyers, including:
- Priority Check-In: Faster airport procedures for a seamless start to the journey.
- Anytime Boarding: Flexibility for passengers to board at their convenience.
- Advanced Seat Selection: Travelers can select premium seats in advance.
- Enhanced Baggage Allowance: Customers can check in two bags totaling 30 kg and carry a 12 kg cabin bag.
Passengers flying IndiGoStretch enjoy spacious seating and premium amenities. Seats feature a 38-inch pitch, 21.3-inch width, and a 5-inch recline, providing ample space for relaxation.
Ergonomic enhancements include a six-way adjustable headrest, neck support, and a holder for electronic devices.
Power connectivity is also a priority, with each seat offering a 60-watt USB-Type-C charging port and a universal three-pin outlet to keep devices powered throughout the journey.
In collaboration with Oberoi Flight Services, IndiGoStretch provides specially curated healthy meal options, ensuring a delightful dining experience onboard.
IndiGo Strategic Expansion
IndiGo’s expansion aligns with its impressive performance in Q3 FY25, where it operated 2,200 daily flights and served 31.3 million passengers.
Pieter Elbers, IndiGo’s CEO, attributed this growth to a rebound in air travel demand and India’s untapped market potential.
The airline’s international operations account for 28% of its Available Seat Kilometers (ASK), reflecting a strategy to capture both domestic and international markets.
“International travel is key to our growth as Indian travelers explore beyond borders,” Elbers noted.
