Etihad Resumes Peshawar Flights

Etihad Airways’ comeback to Peshawar is seen as a strategic step to expand its presence in Pakistan, a key market for the airline. The carrier now joins Fly Dubai (FZ) and Flyadeal (F3) as the third international airline to operate from Peshawar in 2025.

Officials from the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) confirmed that this development offers greater flexibility for travelers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and beyond.

Passengers departing from Peshawar can now take flight EY 277 at 8:00 AM, gaining direct access to Abu Dhabi’s global hub.

The initial service uses Airbus A320 aircraft configured with eight Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats, reflecting Etihad’s premium in-flight standards.

Future Plans

Currently, the Abu Dhabi–Peshawar route operates five times a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. However, starting November 22, 2025, the frequency will increase to daily operations.

This expansion aims to cater to strong passenger demand and enhance connectivity to destinations across the Gulf, Europe, Africa, and North America.

Etihad Airways’ CEO Antonoaldo Neves highlighted the airline’s broader commitment to Pakistan. Alongside Peshawar, services to Karachi (KHI) will be expanded to 17 weekly flights from October 1, 2025.

Impact on Peshawar

The return of Etihad Airways significantly boosts Peshawar’s aviation profile. For local travelers, it provides greater access to Abu Dhabi’s extensive network of onward connections. For the region, it signals growing international interest in the city’s aviation sector.

A Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) spokesperson noted that the resumption underscores the commitment to improving international connectivity while offering passengers world-class facilities.

The move is expected to further strengthen trade, travel, and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
