Emirates to Deploy Upgraded Boeing 777 on All Riyadh Flights

DUBAI- Emirates (EK) has announced the deployment of newly retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft on its second and third daily flights between Dubai (DXB) and Riyadh (RUH), commencing March 30 and May 7, 2025, respectively.

This expansion makes Riyadh (RUH), the first Middle East/GCC destination and among select global locations to receive exclusive service with Emirates’ latest retrofitted aircraft. All of the cabin classes on the retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft experience notable improvements.

Emirates Deploys Retrofitted 777 to Riyadh

The retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft will operate on flight routes EK815 and EK816 beginning March 30, 2025.

Starting May 7, 2025, Emirates will deploy the refurbished Boeing 777 on its third service (EK817 and EK818) initially with six flights weekly, transitioning to daily service from August 11, 2025.

The Dubai Based Airline, first introduced the newly refurbished Boeing 777 to Riyadh in October 2024 on flights EK819 and EK820. Following strong customer response and increased demand, the airline now expands this premium offering across all Riyadh routes.

Enhanced Cabin Features

The retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft deliver significant upgrades across all cabin classes. Premium Economy seats feature a spacious 2-4-2 configuration, offering enhanced comfort and additional room.

The Business Class cabin has been reconfigured to a 1-2-1 layout with direct aisle access, providing greater privacy and convenience for travelers. The aircraft also includes redesigned First Class suites and refreshed Economy Class cabins.

Premium Ground Services

In November 2024, Emirates introduced Chauffeur-Drive Services in Riyadh, offering First and Business Class passengers door-to-door premium transportation. This makes Riyadh the first and only regional destination with this exclusive service, with Emirates being the sole carrier offering chauffeur services in the Saudi capital.

The Dubai based Airline currently operates 72 weekly flights to four Saudi Arabian destinations using a mixed fleet of Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s.

Emirates Continues Global Fleet Modernization

The Riyadh route enhancements are part of Emirates’ broader fleet modernization strategy. The airline recently announced a $5 billion investment to retrofit 120 aircraft with Premium Economy cabins and other interior upgrades.

The Airline also continues to receive new A350 aircraft as part of its fleet expansion plan. The first delivery occurred in Q1 2025. These aircraft feature the latest cabin products and will be deployed on medium and long-haul routes.

The airline has also expanded its Premium Economy offering to additional destinations including Sydney (SYD), Melbourne (MEL), Singapore (SIN), London (LON), and New York (NYC). It received positive customer feedback and achieving high load factors in this cabin class.

“Our aircraft retrofit program represents our commitment to delivering best-in-class experiences across our fleet. Customer response to our Premium Economy product has exceeded expectations, validating our significant investment in this cabin class.”

The carrier’s service enhancements extend beyond aircraft upgrades. There are recent improvements to its onboard dining program, expanded inflight entertainment options, and enhanced digital services through the Airline’s app.
