Delta Air Lines Intercontinental Flight Routes Changes for Summer 2025

ATLANTA- Delta Air Lines (DL) has announced key adjustments to its intercontinental service for the Northern Summer 2025 season as reported by Aeroroutes.

These updates, effective as of March 2, 2025, outline significant changes in aircraft deployment and frequency adjustments across various routes from its international hubs.

Delta Intercontinental Flight changes

Atlanta – Amsterdam Delta Flight 070/071 will undergo aircraft changes, with an Airbus A350-900 replacing the initially planned A330-300 from May 22 to June 7, followed by an A330-900neo from June 8 to June 30. The A330-900neo will also operate from August 1 to October 24. Additionally, Flight 072/073 will switch to an A330-300 starting August 18, replacing the 339-seat A350-900.

Atlanta – Athens Beginning March 29, 2025, the A330-900neo will replace the 339-seat A350. Delta will also increase service frequency to 10 weekly flights from May 8 to October 4, peaking at 13 weekly flights between June 8 and September 7. The airline had previously removed an 11th weekly flight from June 14.

Atlanta – Barcelona Delta will maintain a daily A330-300 service from March 29, instead of the planned 339-seat A350, except between May 4 and June 12. Service will increase to 10 weekly flights from May 7, with additional flights operated by an A330-900neo. A 767-300ER will be scheduled from June 8 to September 7.

Atlanta – Brussels Starting June 10, Delta will reinstate three weekly flights using a 767-300ER, marking a return of the service last operated in March 2020.

Atlanta – Buenos Aires (Ezeiza) A daily A330-900neo service will be maintained from March 29, replacing the previously filed 767-400ER. On August 23, two flights will depart Atlanta using an A350-900.

Atlanta – Dublin The previously scheduled 339-seat A350 will be replaced by a 767-400ER from March 29 to May 3, followed by an A330-300 beginning May 4.

Atlanta – Edinburgh From April 15 to May 25, service will reduce from daily to five weekly flights on a 767-300ER. Daily flights will resume on May 26, earlier than the initially planned June 9. Another reduction to five weekly flights will take effect on October 6. Additionally, from May 22 to October 5, frequency will increase to 10 weekly flights, with extra services operated by an A330-200.

Atlanta – Frankfurt Between March 31 and April 18, an A330-300 will replace the A330-200 on select dates.

Atlanta – London Heathrow Between May 7 and May 21, Delta Flights 030/033 will use an A330-200 instead of a 767-400ER.

Atlanta – Madrid From March 30, an A330-300 will replace the A330-900neo, maintaining a daily service.

Atlanta – Milan (Malpensa) Between March 29 and May 31, a 767-400ER will replace the A330-300 on daily flights. This adjustment was previously scheduled to last only until April 30.

Atlanta – Munich From March 29 to May 6, an A330-200 will replace the 767-400ER on daily service.

Atlanta – Naples A new route to Naples will launch on May 23, featuring four weekly A330-200 flights.

Atlanta – Nice Daily flights will operate from May 2 to September 21 with a 767-400ER, instead of the initially filed May 7 to October 23 schedule.

Atlanta – Paris (Charles de Gaulle) Delta Flight 088/089 will no longer increase from four to seven weekly flights as initially planned, keeping overall service at 18 weekly flights instead of 21. Between May 23 and July 2, a 767-400ER will replace the A330-300 on the route.

Atlanta – Rome (Fiumicino) From March 29 to July 1, a 339-seat A350 will replace the A330-900neo on Flight 214/215. Beginning July 2, service frequency will increase from 14 to 17 weekly flights, with additional flights operated by an A350-900 instead of the previously planned A330-300.

Atlanta – Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) Summer service frequency will increase from three weekly flights in 2024 to four weekly flights in 2025, with a 767-300ER operating.

Atlanta – Santiago (Chile) From August 1, a 275-seat A350-900 will replace the 339-seat model.

Atlanta – São Paulo (Guarulhos) From July 3, Delta Flights 105/268 will operate with an A350-900 instead of an A330-300.

Atlanta – Stuttgart The planned four weekly 767-300ER service resumption, scheduled to start March 30, has been canceled.

Atlanta – Venice (Marco Polo) Seasonal three-weekly service will operate from June 10 to September 6 using a 767-300ER, instead of the previously planned A330-200 deployment from May 22 to October 5. Additionally, from March 29, Flight 138/139 will use a daily 767-400ER instead of the originally filed 767-300ER. The planned frequency increase from 10 to 14 weekly flights, initially set for May 22, has been removed.

Atlanta – Zurich Between May 8 and October 5, flights will increase from four to seven weekly using a 767-300ER. From July 31 to October 6, a 767-400ER will replace the 767-300ER, deviating from the initially planned July 3 switch. From October 6, service will reduce to three weekly flights, with an A330-200 replacing the 767-400ER.

Boston Flight Changes

In Boston, the Amsterdam route will transition to a single daily service operated by an Airbus A330-300/-900neo starting March 29, 2025, replacing the originally scheduled two daily A330-300 flights.

Seasonal service to Athens will commence on April 14, 2025, instead of March 29, with a daily A330-900neo.

New routes from Boston to Barcelona and Milan Malpensa will begin on May 22 and May 23, respectively, each operated by an A330-900neo. The Barcelona service will run three times weekly, while Milan Malpensa will have four weekly flights, replacing the previously scheduled Boeing 767-300ER.

Cincinnati will see an upgrade on its Paris Charles de Gaulle route, with an Airbus A330-300 replacing the 767-400ER starting March 29, 2025.

Initially scheduled to operate three times weekly until May 22, the service will increase to daily from that date, replacing the earlier plan of five weekly flights between May 9 and May 25.

Detroit will undergo multiple fleet changes. The Amsterdam route will feature a mix of A330-300, A330-900neo, and A350-900 aircraft, with one of the three daily services shifting to an A350-900 from March 29, 2025.

A new route to Dublin will operate four times weekly from May 7 to October 5, using an A330-200.

Frankfurt will see temporary adjustments, with an A330-300 replacing the A330-200 on select dates between April 1 and April 19.

The London Heathrow service will continue with the A330-200 instead of the previously scheduled A330-900neo.

Seasonal service to Munich will operate daily from April 20, initially with an A330-200 before transitioning to a 767-400ER on May 7.

Paris Charles de Gaulle flights will maintain an A330-900neo instead of the previously planned A330-300. A second daily seasonal flight between June 2 and September 1 will utilize an A330-300, starting earlier than the initially planned June 8 to October 23 period.

Rome Fiumicino seasonal flights will resume on May 7, with an A330-900neo replacing the A330-300.

Los Angeles will experience notable changes:

The seasonal Los Angeles–Auckland service will be suspended from May 21 to October 6.

The winter seasonal route to Papeete (Tahiti) will be extended to June 7, operating three times weekly with a 767-300ER before resuming on October 7. Service to Shanghai Pudong will resume on June 1, operating three times weekly with an A350-900.

Minneapolis/St. Paul will see an A350-900 replace an A330-300 on one of its three daily Amsterdam flights starting March 29, 2025.

A new three-times-weekly route to Copenhagen will begin on May 22, operated by an A330-300.

The Dublin service, initially planned for April 15, will now start five days later on April 20. From April 20 to May 6, an A330-900neo will replace the originally scheduled 767-300ER, with service reduced from daily to five times weekly. From May 7 to October 5, an A330-200 will take over, before transitioning to an A330-300 from October 6.

The Reykjavik Keflavik route, previously scheduled to run until October 23, will now operate from May 22 to September 7 with a daily 757-200.

Rome Fiumicino will return to the schedule on May 23 with four weekly flights on an A330-300, marking a comeback since it was last served between June and September 2016.

Tokyo Haneda flights will see an aircraft upgrade, with an A350-900 replacing the A330-900neo from March 29, 2025.

Flight Changes from New York:

From New York JFK, the Amsterdam service will continue daily with an A330-900neo, alongside an A330-300.

The Barcelona route will see an A330-300 replace the 767-400ER on March 30, 2025, operating daily before reducing to five weekly flights on April 29. A second seasonal daily service will launch on April 23 with a 767-400ER, with select dates utilizing an A330-300 between April 26 and May 17 instead of a 767-300ER.

The Berlin seasonal service resumes on April 15 with five weekly 767-300ER flights, moved up from May 7. It will increase to daily starting May 7, instead of the previously planned June 10, with an A330-300 scheduled on select dates in June and September.

Brussels flights will drop from seven to four weekly starting March 29, with 767-300ER aircraft retained instead of the planned 767-400ER.

Catania will become a new destination on May 21, operated daily by a 767-300ER, with the inaugural flight moved up one day.

Copenhagen’s seasonal service will now resume two weeks later than planned on April 14, operating five weekly flights with a 767-300ER. Daily service will start on May 9, earlier than the initially planned June 12 peak season adjustment.

Frankfurt will see an A330-300 replace the A330-200 on select flights from March 30 to April 17. Geneva’s seasonal service will also resume two weeks later than planned on April 14, with a 767-300ER replacing the initially scheduled 767-400ER for daily flights.

Lisbon will transition to an A330-900neo from a 767-300ER on March 29, maintaining daily service.

London Gatwick’s seasonal daily 767-300ER service will now run from May 22 to September 7, shortened from the originally planned March 29 to September 21 schedule.

Madrid flights will shift from a 767-400ER to an A330-300neo from March 29, instead of the previously planned A330-900neo.

Milan Malpensa will experience frequency reductions. Flights DL286/287 will drop from daily to four weekly from March 30 to April 18, utilizing a 767-400ER. The frequency will increase to five weekly starting April 20, operated by an A330-300, reducing the total weekly frequency from 14 to 12.

Flight DL184/185 will transition to an A330-300 from a 767-400ER starting March 29. Munich’s planned seasonal three-weekly 767-300ER service has been canceled.

Naples flights will switch to an A330-200 from a 767-300ER on May 7, maintaining daily service.

Nice will temporarily increase from seven to ten weekly flights with a 767-400ER between June 14 and June 19.

Paris Charles de Gaulle flights will undergo schedule adjustments, with morning departures from JFK canceled in favor of late-night departures. Flight DL262/263 will reduce from daily to three weekly between March 30 and May 31, cutting overall frequency from 21 to 17 weekly.

Reykjavik Keflavik flights will transition to a 767-300ER from a 757-200 on March 29, maintaining daily service. A 216-seat 767-300ER will be used between April 14 and May 21 and again from September 8 to October 24.

Rome Fiumicino will see both daily services switch to A330-300 aircraft on March 29, replacing the A330-900neo. A third weekly seasonal flight, DL148/149, will operate with an A330-300 starting May 22 instead of daily service originally planned with a 767-400ER. From September 16 to September 19, DL182/183 will temporarily shift to a 767-300ER from an A330-300.

Sao Paulo Guarulhos will transition to an A330-900neo from a 767-400ER starting March 29, maintaining daily service. Shannon’s seasonal service will resume on May 22 with a daily 767-300ER.

Stockholm Arlanda flights will increase from five to seven weekly starting May 7, earlier than the previous June 9 schedule, originally planned as six weekly for peak season.

Tel Aviv service will resume on April 1, operating daily with an A330-900neo.

Venice Marco Polo flights will operate daily with a 767-400ER instead of the previously planned 767-300ER, beginning March 29.

Other Changes

From Salt Lake City, the London Heathrow route will continue five times weekly with an A330-200, maintaining service instead of the previously planned A330-900neo. A new daily route to Seoul Incheon will launch on June 12, operated by an A350-900.

Seattle’s Amsterdam route will see one of two daily flights shift to an A330-300 from an A330-900neo between March 30 and May 31. Seoul Incheon, Taipei Taoyuan, and Tokyo Haneda flights will all upgrade to an A350-900 from an A330-900neo, effective March 29 for Seoul and Taipei, and May 23 for Tokyo.

Tampa’s Amsterdam service will become a year-round operation, running four times weekly with an A330-300 in the summer season, decreasing to three weekly starting October 1.
