Establishing headquarters in Kochi aligns with Air Kerala’s vision to connect Kerala with national and international destinations.
The airline plans to capitalise on Kochi’s growing importance as an international travel hub, particularly for routes connecting Kerala to Middle Eastern countries where a large Kerala diaspora resides.
Air Kerala will operate both domestic and international flights, initially concentrating on regional routes. The airline will serve short and medium-haul destinations, making travel more affordable for Kerala residents and visitors.
The Times of India reports that a key objective is meeting the needs of migrant workers who frequently travel between Kerala and Gulf countries.

Projected Economic Impact
The airline aims to create an enhanced travel experience that balances affordability with safety and comfort. Initial operations will utilise a fleet of smaller regional aircraft, with plans to expand as passenger demand increases.
With operations scheduled to begin by June 2025, Air Kerala is preparing to transform regional air travel. The airline intends to offer quality service, promote tourism, and support Kerala’s economic growth.
As the launch date approaches, Air Kerala expects to provide more travel options for passengers while strengthening the state’s position in the aviation industry.
The establishment of Air Kerala represents a significant step in developing Kochi as a regional aviation hub. By basing operations in the city, the airline will contribute to making air travel more accessible and affordable for people across Kerala and neighbouring regions.
