United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Texas After Turbulence

WACO- A United Airlines (UA) flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Waco, Texas, after encountering severe turbulence that left five passengers injured.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening (March 2, 2025), prompting an immediate response from medical and emergency personnel.

United Airlines Emergency Landing

SkyWest (OO) Flight 5690, operating as United Express, was en route from Springfield-Branson National Airport (SGF) in Missouri to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston when it hit turbulence.

The aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ-200, diverted to Waco Regional Airport, where medical teams attended to the injured passengers.

The turbulence forced the aircraft to make an unscheduled landing in Waco. Upon arrival, emergency responders, including five units from the Waco Fire Department, assessed passengers for injuries.

According to SkyWest Airlines (OO), five individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital for further evaluation.

Despite the turbulence, all 29 passengers and three crew members remained safe.

SkyWest (OO) and United Airlines (UA) arranged for another aircraft to transport the remaining passengers to Houston (IAH), with the replacement flight departing Waco at 1:17 a.m. CT on Monday.
