United Airlines Adds New Flights

Starting December 11, United will introduce the first nonstop flights between the U.S. and Adelaide, Australia, launching just in time for the Australian summer. This three-times-weekly seasonal service establishes United as the leading carrier to Australia from the continental U.S., with existing service to Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.

United will also add a second daily flight between San Francisco and Manila beginning October 25, giving travelers from both cities the option of daytime or evening flights. United remains the only U.S. airline serving the Philippines, with routes to both Manila and Cebu.

“At United, we’re changing the way people think about where they travel – by offering the greatest access to see and explore the world, whether it’s for relaxation, adventure or business,” said Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President, of Global Network Planning and Alliances at United. “We offer more than the best schedule and travel options – we connect customers to sought-after destinations and opportunities to explore new, vibrant cities.”

United holds the position of world’s leading carrier across the Pacific, having served more than six million business and leisure passengers in the Pacific region over the past year.

Three New Destinations

United Bangkok Flights

United Airlines is set to become the only U.S. airline offering daily flights to Bangkok, Thailand, starting October 26. The service will operate on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, enabling both local and international travelers to explore the city’s rich history.

Bangkok blends vibrant urban culture with traditional elements, featuring hundreds of ancient temples including Wat Phra Kaew (The Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn).

Visitors can experience Lumpini Park’s green oasis amid the bustling cityscape, travel by tuk-tuk, sample street foods like mango sticky rice, boat noodles, and gai tod, and explore the Srinagarindra Train Night Market with its local cuisine, lights, live music, and bars.

United Ho Chi Minh Flights

United will also introduce daily flights to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, beginning October 26, becoming the only U.S. airline serving this route. These flights will also utilize Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

Travelers can visit landmarks such as The Saigon Opera House and Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, explore rice fields by scooter, enjoy Vietnamese cuisine from open-air pho stalls and street vendors, and experience the city’s growing microbrewery scene.

United Adelaide Flights

The airline will make history as the first carrier to offer nonstop service between the U.S. and Adelaide, Australia, with three-times weekly seasonal flights from San Francisco starting December 11.

Operating on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, this addition establishes United as the only airline providing nonstop service between the U.S. and four major Australian cities. Combined with its partnership with Virgin Australia, United offers travelers extensive access throughout the country.

Adelaide provides U.S. travelers an opportunity to escape winter while visiting renowned wine regions like Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale, experiencing Kangaroo Island’s natural beauty, and exploring Adelaide Central Markets—one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest fresh produce markets featuring over 70 local traders.

Growing Asia Pacific Network

On October 25, United will launch a second daily flight between San Francisco and Manila, Philippines, offering U.S. travelers greater flexibility with both day and evening departure options. This service will operate on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Visitors to Manila can explore historic sites like San Agustin and Fort Santiago, sample local Filipino delicacies including kwek-kwek, turon, and halo-halo from street vendors, shop at one of Asia’s largest shopping centers—the Mall of Asia, appreciate art and history at national museums, or take day trips to Tagaytay to view the stunning Taal Volcano situated on its own island.

United maintains the world’s largest network, including the most extensive international network from North America, which continues to expand at an industry-leading pace. The airline operates approximately 500 daily flights to and from 150 international destinations worldwide.

This expansion reinforces United’s commitment to network growth and connecting travelers to new destinations. The airline is also preparing to launch its highly anticipated Summer 2025 schedule announced last October.
