DOHA- Qatar Airways (QR) has released its expanded global winter schedule, significantly increasing flight frequencies to over 15 cities. This enhancement boosts international connectivity through its Doha hub at Hamad International Airport (DOH), recently awarded the title of Best Airport in the Middle East.

Notably, the airline will now offer up to 10 daily flights to London Heathrow (LHR), its highest-ever frequency to the UK. This increase is paired with British Airways (BA) offering two additional daily services, providing travelers with unmatched access to and from London.

Qatar Airways, named World’s Best Airline by Skytrax for a record ninth time in 2025, is responding to sustained demand across its global network.

The airline’s winter schedule features boosted frequencies to major destinations such as Dublin (DUB), Cape Town (CPT), São Paulo (GRU), and Frankfurt (FRA), all routed through its award-winning Doha hub (DOH).

A major highlight is the new cooperation with Virgin Australia (VA), introducing flights from Melbourne (MEL) to Doha, expanding connectivity between Australia and the Middle East. The airline will also resume flights to Canberra (CBR), reinforcing its commitment to enhancing travel options across Oceania.

These winter upgrades reflect Qatar Airways’ proactive response to market trends, supporting both leisure and business travelers seeking premium, reliable service during peak travel seasons.

Detailed Route Increases for Winter 2025

Qatar Airways is increasing frequencies on the following key routes:

  • London Heathrow (LHR) – Up to 10 daily flights (previously 8)
  • Abu Dhabi (AUH) – Up to 6 daily flights (from 5)
  • Berlin (BER) – Up to 21 weekly flights (from 18)
  • Cape Town (CPT) – Up to 12 weekly flights (from 10)
  • Casablanca (CMN) – Up to 5 weekly flights (from 4)
  • Dublin (DUB) – Up to 17 weekly flights (from 14)
  • Frankfurt (FRA) – Up to 21 weekly flights (from 18)
  • Johannesburg (JNB) – Up to 18 weekly flights (from 14)
  • Madrid (MAD) – Up to 17 weekly flights (from 14)
  • Maldives (MLE) – Up to 4 daily flights (from 3)
  • Manchester (MAN) – Up to 24 weekly flights (from 21)
  • Phuket (HKT) – Up to 4 daily flights (from 3)
  • São Paulo (GRU) – Up to 18 weekly flights (from 14)
  • Sharjah (SHJ) – Up to 7 daily flights (from 3)
  • Tokyo Narita (NRT) – Up to 14 weekly flights (from 11)
  • Toronto (YYZ) – Up to 7 weekly flights (from 5)

These strategic increases are aimed at maximizing convenience for passengers while reinforcing Doha as a central international gateway.

In-Flight Enhancements and Fleet Innovations

Qatar Airways continues to lead in passenger experience and onboard technology. The airline now operates 54 Boeing 777s equipped with Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi, offering speeds up to 500 Mbps. This service is free for all passengers—in both Economy and Premium cabins—from gate to gate.

The rollout of Starlink on its Airbus A350 fleet is also underway, with completion expected within the next year. Qatar Airways is currently the only carrier in the MENA region and the first globally to equip over 50 widebody aircraft with the Starlink system.
