TORONTO- Porter Airlines launches new year-round service between Toronto Pearson International Airport and New York’s LaGuardia Airport, commencing May 1, 2025.
The expansion introduces up to three daily roundtrip flights, strengthening Porter’s presence in the New York market.
Porter Airlines LaGuardia Flights
The airline establishes operations at LaGuardia’s modernized Terminal B, a facility that emerged from a $5.1 billion US redevelopment project. The morning service departs Toronto at 7:15 a.m., arriving in New York at 8:55 a.m., offering business travelers an early start option.
Midday flights leave Toronto at 2:50 p.m., reaching LaGuardia at 4:30 p.m., while evening departures from Toronto operate at 7:25 p.m., landing in New York at 9:05 p.m., except on Saturdays. The schedule accommodates various travel preferences across different times of day.
Return flights from LaGuardia begin at 6:15 a.m., landing in Toronto at 7:55 a.m., operating every day except Sundays. Additional departures from New York launch at 9:55 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., arriving in Toronto at 11:35 a.m. and 7:10 p.m. respectively, with daily service.
Connecting Regional Routes via Toronto
Porter Airlines enhances its Toronto Pearson service by offering connections to eight major Canadian cities including Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montréal, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, and Vancouver. The airline’s JetBlue partnership expands passenger reach across the southern United States through LaGuardia connections.
The route features Porter’s Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, configured with 132 seats and designed without middle seats. Passengers receive complimentary high-speed WiFi access throughout their journey.
The airline provides premium snacks alongside complimentary beer and wine served in glassware on all flights. PorterReserve fares include priority check-in, extra legroom seating, and flexible ticketing options, while PorterClassic passengers can purchase these amenities separately.
The LaGuardia service strengthens Porter’s New York presence, building upon its established Newark Liberty International Airport operations. Porter initiated New York-New Jersey service in 2008 with Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to Newark flights, later adding Ottawa International Airport service in 2023.
The combined LaGuardia and Newark services create a comprehensive network offering up to 15 daily roundtrip flights between Canada and the New York metropolitan area. This expansion positions Porter as a significant carrier in the transborder market, serving both primary New York airports.
Porter Airlines Ottawa Flights
Porter Airlines expands its network with a new nonstop service connecting Ottawa and Victoria, British Columbia, starting May 15, 2025. The summer seasonal route marks Victoria as Ottawa’s second direct connection to British Columbia, alongside existing Vancouver flights.
The carrier will operate up to four weekly roundtrip flights between Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and Victoria International Airport (YYJ). Departures from Ottawa commence at 8:35 a.m., reaching Victoria at 10:55 a.m., while return flights depart Victoria at 11:50 a.m., arriving in Ottawa at 7:35 p.m. The service operates on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Porter deploys its Embraer E195-E2 aircraft on this route, featuring 132 seats configured without middle seats. Passengers receive complimentary WiFi, beer, wine, and snacks. The airline offers two fare options: PorterReserve provides an all-inclusive experience with fresh meals, extra legroom, priority check-in, and two checked bags, while PorterClassic allows à la carte purchases of these amenities.
The Ottawa-Victoria route becomes Porter’s twentieth nonstop destination from the capital, enabling connections throughout Eastern Canada, including Halifax, Charlottetown, Fredericton, and St. John’s.
