MUSCAT- Oman Air (WY) will restart double-daily flights between Muscat (MCT) and London (LHR) on October 26 in response to growing passenger demand and strong performance on this key route.
The additional flight will operate four days weekly—Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This will give travelers more scheduling options for their journeys.

Oman Air Restart London Flights
The expanded service aims to improve connectivity with many destinations served by Oman Air’s Oneworld partners, particularly in North America. By summer 2026, the airline plans to operate approximately 14 return flights weekly from Muscat (MCT).
Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air (WY), emphasized the strategic significance of this expansion.
“The introduction of double-daily flights to London reflects our commitment to meeting strong passenger demand, especially as London serves as a strategic hub in our international network and the United Kingdom represents one of our most important inbound tourism markets.”
Con Korfiatis, CEO, Oman Air
Korfiatis noted that strengthening Oman Air’s presence on this route supports both the airline’s operations and aligns with Oman’s efforts to boost tourism and achieve sustainable growth, particularly as the airline prepares to join the Oneworld alliance.
The CEO highlighted the company’s focus on exploring market potential while providing exceptional travel experiences for guests. The new schedule will feature two daily flights four days a week, creating more seamless connections to destinations in the United States and other long-haul locations.

All flights on this route will utilize the airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which feature spacious cabins with three award-winning service classes: Business Studio, Business Class, and Economy Class.
The expanded service reflects Oman Air’s ongoing commitment to growth and service enhancement as it strengthens its position in international air travel and prepares for its integration into the Oneworld alliance.

Future Goals
Oman Air (WY) plans to join the Oneworld alliance on June 30, 2025. This partnership will connect Oman Air (WY) passengers to more destinations worldwide and bring new international travelers to Oman. The alliance membership represents a key step in the airline’s strategy to expand its global presence.
The airline is simplifying its fleet by using only two aircraft types. For long-distance flights, Oman Air will rely on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. For shorter routes, the airline will use Boeing 737-8 planes. By mid-2026, Oman Air (WY) aims to operate only 737-8 aircraft for its shorter flights, making maintenance and operations more efficient.
Oman Air (WY) seeks to add new routes to its network, with a special interest in flights to China and Africa. The airline also plans to increase its presence in European and South Asian markets, creating more passenger travel options while supporting Oman’s tourism industry.
The airline is adjusting its business model to achieve a 50/50 balance between travelers who simply connect through Oman and those who visit the country as their final destination. This approach aligns with Oman’s goal to increase tourism while maintaining Oman Air’s role as an international carrier.

Better Travel Experience
Passengers can expect improvements to in-flight entertainment systems and continued high-quality service.
Oman Air (WY) remains committed to offering complimentary meals and beverages on its flights, maintaining the premium experience that distinguishes the airline from competitors.
To ensure long-term success, Oman Air (WY) is undertaking a comprehensive restructuring program. This effort addresses financial stability, company management, business operations, and employee development. These changes aim to create a stronger, more sustainable airline that can thrive in the competitive aviation market.
