Malaysia Airlines Paris Flights

Malaysia Airlines initiates daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Paris on March 29. This route, evaluated pre-pandemic, was launched amid recent operational challenges.

The airline faced scrutiny due to flight delays, rerouting, and cancellations. This comes after two of its Airbus A330-operated flights made an emergency landing due to technical issues.

Group Managing Director Datuk Captain Izham Ismail acknowledges these issues, emphasizing their commitment to addressing them.

MAG prioritizes supporting national travel and tourism while maintaining safety standards and focusing on customer experience.

Izham describes the decision to reduce flights as difficult but necessary for implementing corrective measures. The new Paris route proceeds despite ongoing operational adjustments.

Group Managing Director Datuk Captain Izham Ismail anticipates significant potential in the competitive European market. This reestablishment ends the discontinuation of Paris flights, which occurred in January 2016 as part of Malaysia Airlines’ B777 fleet phase-out strategy.

The original Paris route, initiated in 1981, operated for 35 years before its termination. The airline simultaneously ceased Amsterdam (AMS) flights during the 2016 restructuring.

New Destinations

In March 2024, Malaysia Airlines announced the launch of three new destinations. These include Malé, Maldives (MLE); Da Nang, Vietnam (DAD); and Chiang Mai, Thailand (CNX).

The airline commenced daily flights to MLE from 1 August 2024, will commence daily flights to DAD from 24 September 2024, and five times weekly flights to CNX from 15 August 2024.

This will signify the airline’s 13th destination in South Asia and 16th in ASEAN as it endeavors to amplify its presence in vital markets, reinforcing its stature as the gateway to Asia and beyond, aligning with its commercial advancement journey.

As a member of the oneworld® alliance, Malaysia Airlines presently provides extensive connectivity to over 900 destinations in 170 territories worldwide.

Qantas Paris Flights

Well, Malaysia Airlines is not the sole carrier announcing flights to Paris. Australian flag carrier, Qantas (QF) recently inaugurated the Sydney (SYD) to Paris (CDG) flight via Perth (PER).

The airline operates 4x weekly flights using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. But from August 2024, the airline has downgraded it to 3x weekly flights.

Qantas already operates non-stop flights to London (LHR) and Rome (FCO) in Europe. It is the only airline that operates flights between Australia and Continental Europe.

Well, you must be wondering, why Paris is one of the top destinations for tourists. It’s because Paris is a timeless travel destination, that offers a wealth of experiences across its 20 arrondissement.
