Korean Air Takes Delivery of New A321neo, 100th Airbus Aircraft

TOULOUSE- Korean Air (KE) recently celebrated a significant milestone in its partnership with Airbus, as the airline took delivery of its 100th Airbus aircraft – the A321neo.

This achievement marks a long-standing collaboration between the two industry giants, dating back to 1975 when Korean Air became the first non-European airline to purchase aircraft from Airbus.

Korean Air 100th Airbus

The A321neo, with manufacturer serial number (MSN) 11497, embarked on its ferry flight from Toulouse to Seoul on April 23rd. This particular delivery is noteworthy because it is the first A321neo Korean Air received directly from Toulouse.

Previously, the airline had taken delivery of its A321 aircraft from Hamburg, making this delivery a unique event for Korean Air.

MSN 11497 is special in Korean Air’s history, marking the 100th Airbus aircraft joining its fleet. This milestone includes various Airbus aircraft types, such as the A300, A330, A380, A220, and A321.

Korean Air’s continued partnership with Airbus is a testament to the reliability, efficiency, and quality of Airbus aircraft.

Strong Relationships

Since its first order of six A300B4s in 1974, Korean Air has maintained a strong relationship with Airbus, operating various Airbus aircraft over the years.

The airline’s recent order of 33 A350s underscores its commitment to modernizing its fleet and providing passengers with a top-notch flying experience.

Anand Stanley, President of Airbus Asia-Pacific, expressed his gratitude to Korean Air for its continued confidence in Airbus and its products.
