IndiGo Airlines Pilot Salary

Due to its low-cost nature as well as short-haul travel, IndiGo does not employ second officers. This means all pilots flying for the airline are first officers or captains.

IndiGo First Officer Salary

First officers at IndiGo are generally individuals from the airline’s own cadet program or are hired personnel from 6E’s rivals with relatively lesser experience in the cockpit. They are responsible for communication while flying as well as assisting the pilot in safely transporting passengers.

First officers are compensated with a salary between ₹1.5 lakhs to ₹2.5 lakhs per month. This ranges between ₹18 lakh and ₹30 lakh annually (US$ 21,000 to US$35,000) and is calculated on the basis of each individual’s experience as well as any potential negotiation factors.

IndiGo Captain Salary

Captains at IndiGo are responsible for flying the aircraft as well as for the safety of the passengers and cabin crew. They also make important decisions on matters such as navigation and generally have several more years of experience as compared to their junior colleagues, and first officers.

Senior captains, on the other hand, are a level above the captains and have over a decade of experience. Apart from pursuing a captain’s job, fleet management as well as training first officers to become commanders could also be a part of their job profile.

Captains at IndiGo are compensated with a salary in the range of ₹5 lakhs to ₹10 lakhs per month, which falls in the range of ₹60 lakhs and ₹1.20 crores each year (US$ 70,000 to US$140,000) and is commensurate to the pilot’s experience and seniority.
