GURGAON- IndiGo Airlines (6E) will launch direct international flights from Mumbai (BOM) to Copenhagen (CPH) starting October 8, 2025. The route marks the airline’s first entry into Scandinavia, expanding its European network and improving access for Indian travelers.
The service will operate three times weekly using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, leased on a wet lease from Norse Atlantic Airways (N0). This move underscores IndiGo’s focus on scaling up its international long-haul operations.

IndiGo New International Flights
The Mumbai to Copenhagen route provides a non-stop connection between India’s financial hub and Denmark’s capital city.
Flights will depart Mumbai at 04:35 IST and arrive in Copenhagen at 22:05 local time. Return flights are scheduled to depart at 12:30 and land in Mumbai just past midnight.
Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers highlighted that this marks IndiGo’s 44th international destination. With Copenhagen as a new hub, the airline now serves 138 destinations worldwide.
The route also positions Denmark as a gateway to the Nordic region, improving travel links between India and Scandinavia.

IndiGo Aircraft and Leasing Details
IndiGo will deploy the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, a wide-body aircraft designed for long-haul routes.
The Dreamliner features higher fuel efficiency, quieter engines, larger windows, and improved cabin pressurization, offering a more comfortable passenger experience.
The aircraft will be operated under a wet lease from Norse Atlantic Airways (N0). A wet lease includes not only the aircraft but also crew, maintenance, and insurance, enabling IndiGo to launch long-haul services quickly without committing to wide-body fleet ownership.

Travel Benefits for Passengers
The direct new international flights from Mumbai to Copenhagen reduces travel time by eliminating layovers in European hubs such as Frankfurt, Amsterdam, or Doha.
Estimated flight duration is around 9 to 10 hours, making it one of the fastest ways to connect India with Scandinavia.
This route is expected to strengthen tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges. Business travelers will benefit from convenient access to Nordic financial centers, while leisure passengers gain seamless entry into Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
