Airbus A321XLR to Serve the Route

Both the new and existing flights will utilize Iberia’s state-of-the-art Airbus A321XLR aircraft. This choice of aircraft demonstrates Iberia’s commitment to efficiency and passenger comfort on medium to long-haul routes.

The A321XLR’s extended range capabilities make it well-suited for transatlantic flights, offering a balance of capacity and fuel efficiency.

As of now, Iberia has confirmed the operation of this second daily flight through March 29. However, the airline has not yet announced whether this service will extend into the Summer 2025 season.

This temporary schedule suggests that Iberia may be testing the waters for increased demand on this route, potentially with an eye toward permanent expansion if the additional flight proves successful.

The introduction of this second daily flight represents a significant investment by Iberia in the Madrid-Boston route. Further, it not only doubles the airline’s capacity but also provides more options for connecting passengers traveling through Madrid to other destinations in Iberia’s extensive network across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
