Frontier Airlines and Volaris Resume New Codeshare Partnership

DENVER- Frontier Airlines (F9), a provider of ultra-low fares, announced today the reinstatement of its codesharing agreement with Volaris (Y4), a Mexico City-based airline.

Commencing today, travelers with Frontier Airlines can now reserve flights between the U.S. and Mexico through this partnership, applicable for departures from May 16, 2024, onwards.

Frontier and Volaris Codeshare

Volaris, recognized as a Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier, operates across Mexico, the United States, and Central and South America.

Its Mexican routes cover a range of sought-after destinations, including Mexico City, Cancún, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Huatulco, Acapulco, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Tijuana, among others.

Code-share flight reservations can be made via FlyFrontier.com starting May 8 and through the FlyFrontier mobile app from May 9 onwards.

Customers of Frontier Airlines will have the option to book both direct Volaris flights and interconnected Frontier/Volaris itineraries, subject to route availability.

CEO Remarks

Barry Biffle, CEO of Frontier Airlines, expressed his enthusiasm about resuming codesharing with Volaris, highlighting the added convenience it brings for Frontier customers in booking travel to numerous captivating destinations in Mexico.

He emphasized Volaris’ reputable status as a well-established airline, operating for nearly two decades, with a shared commitment to offering convenient, affordable, and hospitable air travel experiences, aligning closely with Frontier’s ethos.

The codeshare agreement underscores Volaris’ dedication to expanding its reach, currently boasting over 460 daily flight segments across 44 Mexican cities and 29 destinations in the United States, Central, and South America.

Enrique Beltranena, President and CEO of Volaris, echoed the excitement about the renewed partnership with Frontier Airlines. This collaboration, which has been active since 2018, not only broadens travel options for Frontier customers but also underscores Volaris’ commitment to operational excellence and providing an extensive range of destinations connecting the two nations.

Beltranena emphasized the shared values between the two airlines in prioritizing accessible, cost-effective, and hospitable air travel experiences, anticipating the positive outcomes this renewed partnership will bring for both airlines and their passengers.
