Airport officials confirmed the fire, which caused a temporary halt to air traffic. Ryanair reported to CNN that all 184 passengers and crew safely evacuated on the runway after cabin crew observed fumes outside the aircraft. Passengers were bussed back to the terminal.

The fire originated from issues with the right-side engines. All Ryanair aircraft use CFM engines. The airport reopened approximately three hours after the incident, according to its website.

Passengers disembarked normally, and engineers inspected the aircraft.
