Etihad Airways Boosts China Cargo Capacity by 64%

ABU DHABI– Etihad Cargo has expanded its freight capacity to address growing customer demand in Greater China.

The logistics division of Etihad Airways (EY) will increase its total flights to and from China from 11 in 2024 to 18 in 2025. This will represent a 64% increase in service frequency.

The carrier will supplement its fleet with a wet-leased Boeing 747F to support increased freight movements on high-demand routes. This expansion provides customers with greater flexibility for shipping cargo between key global markets.

To accommodate growing market demand, Etihad Cargo has added 3 additional weekly freighter flights to Shenzhen (SZX) and two additional weekly flights to London (LHR).

These expanded operations strengthen connectivity between China, Europe, and the Middle East. This will offer increased capacity for transporting e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, perishables, and other critical shipments.

The capacity increase aligns with Etihad Cargo’s strategy of expanding its global network to provide reliable, customer-focused solutions. The carrier maintains its commitment to delivering efficient and flexible freight services while strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global logistics hub.
