The Boeing 777 remains integral to Emirates’ fleet operations, while the A380 is the airline’s flagship and a customer favorite. This expansion of the refurbishment initiative underscores Emirates’ commitment to delivering an unparalleled travel experience to its passengers.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airlines, emphasized the airline’s commitment to enhancing the customer experience by investing in retrofitting more A380s and Boeing 777s with cutting-edge cabin products.

This initiative aims to provide passengers with a best-in-class suite of products across all cabins, featuring updated cabin finishings, contemporary color schemes, and the latest generation seats.

Progress So Far

Currently, Emirates has retrofitted 22 A380 aircraft, and the first Boeing 777 is scheduled for an interior refresh in July of this year. Each Boeing 777 aircraft will undergo approximately two weeks of refurbishment before being reintroduced into service.

The refurbishment plans include introducing new Business Class seats in an updated 1-2-1 seating configuration and the debut of 24 Premium Economy seats, offering passengers more premium options.

The refreshed Emirates Boeing 777 will feature a total of 332 seats across four classes, including eight First Class suites, 40 Business Class seats, and 260 Economy Class seats. To accommodate the new Premium Economy cabin, 50 Economy seats will be removed.

The refurbishment of the Emirates fleet is being entirely managed and conducted in-house at the airline’s Engineering Centre, where over 250 project personnel are currently working around the clock.

They are supported by 31 major partners and suppliers who have established workshops both within the facility and offsite to ensure the delivery of the refreshed cabins.

Emirates has already introduced its refurbished A380 aircraft with Premium Economy cabins on select routes, including New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, London Heathrow, Sydney, Auckland, Christchurch, Melbourne, Singapore, Mumbai, Bangalore, Sao Paulo, and Dubai. The airline plans to expand services with the new cabin to Osaka in early June.
