DUBAI- Emirates Airline (EK) has announced flight schedule changes to its Northern Summer 2025 schedule, effective from March 30, 2025. The changes reflect adjustments in aircraft deployment and routing, including a slight reduction in Airbus A380 operations.
According to Aeroroutes, key updates include aircraft replacements across several routes, and introducing more efficient models while maintaining high service standards. Travelers can expect shifts in capacity and operational enhancements tailored to specific routes.
Emirates Flight Changes Summer 2025
Emirates (EK) schedule updates focus on optimizing fleet efficiency and meeting demand on various routes. Notable adjustments are summarized below:
Addis Ababa
Starting May 1, 2025, Emirates will introduce the Boeing 777-200LR on its daily service between Dubai (DXB) and Addis Ababa (ADD), replacing the larger Boeing 777-300ER.
This adjustment is part of the airline’s strategy to utilize more fuel-efficient aircraft on routes where passenger demand can be effectively met with smaller models.
Ho Chi Minh City
Flights EK364/365 on the Dubai (DXB)–Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) route will transition from the Boeing 777-300ER to the more efficient Boeing 777-200LR, effective June 1, 2025.
The updated aircraft will continue to provide a premium travel experience while better aligning with passenger volume trends.
Johannesburg
Effective March 30, 2025, Emirates will modify its operations to Johannesburg (JNB) by replacing one of its two daily A380 flights with a 3-class Boeing 777-300ER on flight EK761/762.
This change reduces overall A380 service on the route from two to one daily, offering a mix of capacity options for travelers while maintaining premium service offerings.
Lisbon
On September 21, 2025, Emirates will deploy the Boeing 777-200LR on its flights EK193/194 between Dubai and Lisbon (LIS).
This aircraft replacement reflects the airline’s effort to balance capacity and operational efficiency on its European routes.
London Gatwick
From March 30 to September 30, 2025, Emirates will adjust its operations at London Gatwick (LGW) by replacing the 2-class A380 on flights EK011/012 with a 2-class Boeing 777-300ER.
As a result, the number of daily A380 flights will decrease from three to two. This temporary adjustment ensures optimal fleet utilization during the summer season.
Lyon
The A350-900 will debut on the Dubai (DXB)–Lyon (LYS) route effective March 30, 2025, replacing the Boeing 777-300ER.
Originally scheduled for March 1, 2025, this change marks a significant upgrade, providing enhanced efficiency and passenger comfort on this route.
Melbourne
Nonstop services to Melbourne (MEL) will increase from two to three daily starting March 30, 2025. All flights will be operated by the Boeing 777-300ER, adding more capacity to meet growing demand while maintaining nonstop connectivity.
Additionally, the Dubai (DXB) – Singapore (SIN) – Melbourne (MEL) service will be discontinued from the same date. Despite this cancellation, Emirates will maintain four daily flights to Singapore, ensuring consistent connectivity to Southeast Asia.
Muscat
Muscat (MCT) will see two updates in aircraft deployment:
- Flights EK866/867 (from March 30, 2025): The A350-900 will replace the Boeing 777-300ER, offering improved efficiency and passenger comfort.
- Flights EK862/863 (from April 5, 2025): A Boeing 777-300ER will replace the Boeing 777-200LR for one weekly service, enhancing capacity on this short-haul route.
Oslo
Between March 30 and July 31, 2025, Emirates will temporarily deploy a 3-class Boeing 777-300ER on its Dubai – Oslo (OSL) route, replacing the Boeing 777-200LR.
During this period, First Class bookings will not be available, though Business and Economy services remain unchanged.
Perth
For flights EK424/425 between August 1 and September 30, 2025, Emirates will continue operating the Boeing 777-300ER, postponing the introduction of the Boeing 777-200LR to October 1, 2025. This decision ensures stability in capacity during the seasonal peak.
Shanghai
The previously planned reintroduction of the A380 on the Dubai (DXB)–Shanghai (PVG) route has been removed from the schedule. Flights EK302/303 will instead continue to operate with a 3-class Boeing 777-300ER from June 1, 2025.
Singapore
The Dubai (DXB)–Singapore (SIN)–Melbourne (MEL) service will be discontinued from March 30, 2025.
Despite this, Emirates will maintain its four daily direct flights between Dubai and Singapore, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for passengers.
