Emirates Deploys A350 to Dammam

On 8th July, Emirates’ A350-900 touched down in Dammam, welcomed with a ceremonial water cannon salute. The aircraft, operating as flight EK827/828, connects Dammam with Dubai, offering passengers a next-generation air travel experience.

This deployment strengthens Emirates’ operations in Saudi Arabia. The airline serves four key gateways—Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah, and Dammam. The introduction of the A350 to Dammam brings enhanced passenger experiences to its regional network.

Local dignitaries, airport officials, and Emirates executives gathered to celebrate the aircraft’s arrival. Dammam is the first destination in Saudi Arabia that Emirates has served with the all-new A350.

Inside the Emirates A350

The Emirates A350-900 is designed with passenger comfort and sustainability in mind. Emirates A350 aircraft features 312 seats across three classes: 32 next-generation Business Class suites, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 259 Economy Class seats.

The A350-900 aircraft in Emirates’ fleet is configured in a three-class layout with 312 seats:

  • 32 Business Class suites, featuring privacy doors, lie-flat beds, direct aisle access, and a 20-inch HD screen.
  • 21 Premium Economy seats, with 38-inch pitch, 19.5-inch width, and upgraded meals and amenities.
  • 259 Economy Class seats, ergonomically designed with adjustable headrests and access to Wi-Fi and inflight entertainment.

The aircraft does not feature First-class products. The A350s come with larger windows and are highly fuel-efficient. The aircraft also reduces environmental impact while delivering a smoother, more enjoyable flight.

Emirates in Saudi Arabia

Emirates’ operation in Saudi Arabia spans four destinations and includes multiple daily flights to each. Dammam’s addition to the A350 roster aligns with Emirates’ gradual integration of the aircraft type into its schedule.

Emirates also deployed the A350 on routes to Bahrain and Kuwait earlier this year. The daily A350 service between Dubai and Dammam will offer premium economy to Emirates customers.

Emirates operates multiple daily flights to the city, complementing its extensive operations across the Kingdom.

A Glimpse into Emirates A350 Future

Emirates has plans to have 65 Airbus A350s in its fleet by 2030. The airline plans to deploy its Airbus A350-900 fleet primarily on short- to medium-haul regional routes in the Middle East and South Asia in the initial phase.

Emirates will launch long-haul flights to Europe, Africa, and Asia once it receives more A350 aircraft.

The airline stated it will use the A350s on routes that don’t need the larger capacity of the A380 or 777 but still require frequent service and a premium onboard experience. Over time, Emirates intends to use the A350s to open new city pairs and enhance its network globally.

Emirates will likely expand its A350 operations further in the coming days as it takes delivery of additional aircraft. More new city pairs are likely to see A350s in the near future.
