Emirates Cancels Some US Flights
The widespread winter storm has created a ripple effect across the US aviation sector, leading to extensive disruptions in major cities including New York, Philadelphia, and various locations in Texas.
The severe weather conditions have caused numerous flight cancellations and delays, affecting both domestic and international air travel operations.
Emirates Airlines has implemented immediate measures to assist affected passengers. Travelers who arrange their bookings through travel agencies are directed to contact their respective agents for travel modifications. Direct Emirates customers can seek rebooking assistance through their local Emirates office.
The airline has established a dedicated flight status page to provide real-time updates to passengers regarding their travel arrangements. Emirates has expressed regret over the service disruptions and continues to monitor the weather situation closely.

Air India (AI) suspended approximately 60 flights to the United States during the winter 2024 peak season, following widespread aircraft maintenance challenges. The Tata Group-owned carrier faces significant operational constraints as multiple Boeing 777 and 787 wide-body aircraft remain grounded for maintenance procedures.
The service disruption spans from November 15 to December 31, 2024, affecting key US destinations. The Delhi-Chicago route experiences 14 flight cancellations, while the Delhi-Washington service sees 28 flights removed from the schedule. The Delhi-San Francisco route faces 12 cancellations, with Mumbai-New York and Delhi-Newark services losing four and two flights respectively.
The airline attributed these disruptions to extended maintenance periods and ongoing supply chain difficulties, which have delayed the return of aircraft to active service. These technical complications have created substantial service delays across Air India’s US-bound routes.
Air India implemented comprehensive passenger assistance measures in response to these cancellations. The carrier offered impacted travelers several options, including alternative flights within the Air India group network, complimentary schedule modifications, or complete refund processing. These compensatory measures aim to minimize passenger inconvenience during the high-demand holiday travel period.
