LONDON- One of the two flag carriers of the UAE, Emirates (EK), has announced the addition of a fourth daily flight between Dubai (DXB) and London Gatwick (LGW). These new flights are set to start from February 8, 2026, onwards.

The flights will be operated with the airline’s modern Airbus A350-900 aircraft. This new service enhances Emirates’ London operations to 12 flights daily across three airports. The announcement aligns perfectly with the peak travel season of summer.

This move by Emirates increases travel options and brings a refreshed onboard setup. This will also address the rising need for comfortable and accessible travel between Dubai and London Gatwick.

Emirates Adds More Flights to Gatwick

The new daily flight will start in early February. Flight EK069 will depart Dubai at 17:05 from DUbai and will arrive in London Gatwick at 20:50 local time.

The return flight, EK070, will be leaving Gatwick at 23:55 PM local time and landing in Dubai at 11:00 AM the next day. With this flight, Emirates will also offer an evening flight to Gatwick. The present flights are operated at midnight, in the morning, and in the afternoon.

Emirates A350-900s have cutting-edge amenities, including electric window blinds with the Emirates Ghaf tree motif in premium cabins, digital in-flight menus on ICE screens, and the airline’s signature service. This should elevate the journey on this 7.5-hour route.

Expanding UK Connectivity

Gatwick becomes the second UK destination, after Edinburgh, to welcome Emirates’ A350. Gatwick also joined Emirates’ global network that includes Lyon, Bologna, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad.

The fourth daily flight boosts Emirates’ UK operations to 140 weekly flights across eight different UK airports. Emirates flies nonstop to London Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, and Edinburgh.

The airline uses a mix of A350s, A380s, and Boeing 777s. Emirates is a key connector between the UK and over 140 destinations worldwide.

The A350’s introduction at Gatwick will enhance capacity on this busy corridor. The demand for the UK has been ever-growing. There is strong tourism, business travel, and the Indian diaspora.

How does the Emirates A350s Elevate the experience?

The Airbus A350-900 will offer a thoughtfully designed three-class configuration. Business Class features 32 lie-flat seats arranged in a 1-2-1 layout. This will provide every passenger with direct aisle access and ample personal space.

Premium Economy includes 28 seats that strike a balance between comfort and affordability. This caters especially well to long-haul travelers with extra legroom and upgraded amenities. Meanwhile, the Economy Class cabin is equipped with 238 ergonomically designed seats, offering an enjoyable and efficient experience for the majority of passengers on board.

Notably, Emirates’ decision to introduce a fourth daily flight to London Gatwick with an Airbus A350 from February 8, 2026, follows a recent shift where one of its three daily A380 services transitioned to a Boeing 777-300ER starting January 2026.

These changes are unveiled during the busy travel planning season. This shows Emirates intended to distribute seating capacity more evenly between the Boeing 777 and Airbus A350, replacing the single A380 service.

This is for a balanced approach to meet growing demand on the Dubai-Gatwick route while leveraging the A350’s modern amenities.

Bottom Line

The February 2026 launch is seven months away. Emirates has taken delivery of 8 A350s so far. By February, Emirates must be able to take delivery of a couple more of them.

Not to mention, the airline has enough time to refine the operations and promote the new flight.

This expansion could pave the way for additional A350 deployments to other UK cities or further frequency increases. Gatwick is gaining prominence in Emirates’ UK network, emerging as a key gateway alongside Heathrow.
