1 dzień temu

NEWCASTLE- In a major development for UK regional aviation, British low-cost carrier easyJet (U2) has announced a bunch of new routes from the new base at Newcastle Airport (NCL).

From the start of the Summer 2026 (S26) season, the airline will launch a wave of new international routes. This will boost connectivity from Newcastle to popular holiday and city break destinations across Europe and North Africa.

Meanwhile, easyJet continues to grow its UK footprint. The airline is adding capacity outside its traditional strong bases like Gatwick, Luton, and Manchester.

Newcastle has seen increasing demand in recent years. While easyJet has served Newcastle in the past with seasonal and limited-frequency routes, the decision to place aircraft and crew at NCL marks a new chapter for the airline in the region.

Bottom Line

By launching these new flights in March and August, easyJet can capture both the early holiday planning crowd and peak summer demand. This phased rollout also allows the airline to test performance ahead of potential frequency increases.

easyJet’s decision to launch 11 new international routes by Summer 2026 is a significant boost for travelers in the region. The group already serves eight routes from Newcastle.

With a strong mix of destinations and consistent frequencies, this marks the beginning of a much larger role for Newcastle Airport in the European travel market.

easyJet will base 3 aircraft in Newcastle from March 2026. The airline might base a few more aircraft from August 2026. This new base will be the 11th hub for the airline in the U.K.
