EasyJet CEO Salary in 2025

easyJet is one of two major low-cost airlines in Europe, working in practically a duopoly in such an operating model alongside Ryanair. The carrier, based out of London, has several bases in the United Kingdom and mainland Europe, and much like its arch competitor, has been responsible for setting the precedent in influencing LCC models around the world.

Presently, easyJet flies to over 30 countries and operates over 900 routes, while employing a workforce of more than 13,000 individuals across its hubs. With its fleet of over 300 airplanes, the airline flew just over 89 million passengers in 2024 and had a net income of £452 million, or approximately US$592 million at the end of the fiscal period.

At the backend of last year, the airline underwent a major shift in its leadership as Johan Lundgren, its CEO of eight years, stepped down from his role and was replaced by Kentos Jarvis at the start of 2025. Here is everything you need to know about who the two individuals are and how much they are compensated for their work with easyJet.

Who are Johan Lundgren and Kenton Jarvis?

Johan Lundgren is a Swedish professional who has worked extensively in the aviation and tourism industry, most notably for TUI and easyJet. He is a graduate of the Stockholm School of Economics and also holds an executive certificate from the International Institute for Management Development, Zurich.

Lundgren served in several roles across the travel sector in Europe before achieving the biggest breakthrough of his career at TUI, where he worked as the deputy chief executive officer for four years.

He joined easyJet in 2017, directly as the airline’s CEO, and spent eight years in the role to define a successful period before passing the baton to Kenton Jarvis.

Jarvis has been with easyJet since 2021, when he joined them as the Chief Financial Officer. He was previously an independent member of the airline’s board of directors, and also served a role on TUI’s Executive Committee.

Earlier in his career, Jarvis was a chartered accountant at PwC, then worked in the finance department of Adidas before transitioning into travel and tourism.

Ahead of his executive position at TUI, he was the finance director for Airtours Holidays, a stint that largely defined his breakthrough into working with two of Europe’s most reputable travel brands.

At easyJet, his task is to pick up where Lundgren has left off and continue with the airline’s ever-expanding, as well as profitable, operating model.

easyJet CEO Salaries

Before stepping down as the CEO of easyJet, Johan Lundgren made his most lucrative salary in 2024, amounting to £2.88 million for the financial period, or approximately US$3.77 million. It marked a significant increase from the £2.19 million he earned in the previous year. Of the final paycheque, £803,000 was in basic salary, whereas his bonus was £1.3 million.

Over and above the base component of his compensation and a bonus, nearly £800,000 was made in stock rewards, which matured at the time of Lundgren relinquishing his role with the airline.

Meanwhile, Kenton Jarvis, who replaced him in the position from January 1st, 2025, has agreed upon a basic salary of £800,000 with variable bonuses on the airline’s performance and determined at the end of the financial period.

While, Ryanair’s CEO, Michael Kevin O’Leary’s salary for the same period was £3.88 million, or roughly US$5 million. Admittedly, however, Ryanair has been a more profitable airline than easyJet with a far bigger scale of operations, while its chief executive has also been in the role for long enough to warrant a higher compensation, as well as a contract extension until 2027-28.

easyJet’s plans for 2025

Newly appointed easyJet chief executive officer Kenton Jarvis is set to captain the airline’s ambitious plans for 2025.

For the first time in its history spanning three decades, the carrier expects to fly over 100 million passengers. Nearly 104 million seats have been made available for booking for the 2024-25 fiscal year, with 24.1 million individuals already having been served in Q1.

The summer is set to see especially major strides as 26 new routes have been introduced by easyJet and more are plannned.

The airline will offer connectivity between Cape Verde and the United Kingdom, while the expansion plans will also take their number of routes served in 2025 to over 1,000. Their inflated capacity and routes led to the airline’s share price reaching an all-time high in eight months.
