The festivities in Toulouse, where the aircraft was constructed and painted this year, took on added significance with the presence of Delta’s Chairman’s Club.
Comprising the airline’s top 100 employees, selected by their peers from various divisions throughout the company, this group participated in the unveiling event for the first time.
Subsequently, these employees, nominated by their peers and Delta’s senior leadership, represent the cream of the crop across the organization.
Chosen annually for their outstanding performance and embodiment of the Delta ethos, Chairman’s Club Honorees receive the honor of flying home to Atlanta on a new Delta aircraft as a token of appreciation for their unwavering dedication to the brand.
In celebration of the approaching Paris Games, the 2023 honoree class had the privilege of revealing the captivating Team USA livery design and being the inaugural passengers on the freshly adorned plane. Further, the Members of the 2023 class were present to mark the occasion.
“Team USA athletes embody resilience and perseverance, qualities shared by Delta’s dedicated workforce, which tirelessly connects the world,” remarked Gina Laughlin, Vice President of Global Communications.
Delta’s Chairman’s Club Honorees will pilot the aircraft back to Atlanta on May 3.
Special Designed Livery
The unique livery underwent months of development by Alessandra Rabellino and Delta’s in-house brand design team, Window Seat. The custom design prominently showcases ‘Team USA’ across its fuselage, featuring a distinctive palette of red, white, and blue.
While drawing inspiration from the Team USA Livery design for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, the new design also incorporates elements that anticipate future events, including the Paris Games and beyond.
“We took a key element from the Beijing Livery – the jet stream – and transformed it into the silhouette of the Eiffel Tower, symbolizing the momentum leading up to Paris,” explained Rabellino.
On May 2, Delta revealed its custom Airbus A350 aircraft livery dedicated to Team USA in Toulouse, France, reaffirming its pledge to champion the journey of these athletes and foster their aspirations as the official airline of Team USA. NBC’s Keir Simmons offered an exclusive glimpse inside the aircraft on TODAY.
In addition to this commitment, Delta has proudly teamed up with 15 athlete ambassadors from Team USA for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024.
These remarkable athletes will accompany Delta on the path to Paris, with the airline providing support both on and off the field, celebrating their tales of resilience and determination as they pursue their Olympic and Paralympic aspirations.
