ATLANTA- Delta Air Lines (DL) has submitted a range of adjustments to its international network for the upcoming winter season, involving reallocating its A350 fleet and adjusting flight frequencies. Below are the key changes.

According to AeroRoutes, Delta has implemented numerous modifications to its network in its recent schedule update. Notably, it will withdraw its Airbus A350 fleet from certain routes and reallocate them to other destinations.

Delta A350 Routes

The following flights, which were not previously operated by the Airbus A350 or are experiencing frequency increases or resumptions with the A350, are as follows:

  1. Atlanta to Rome Fiumicino: Flight DL066/067 will be operated by the A350 instead of the A330neo starting October 26, 2024. This will be a daily flight.
  2. Los Angeles to Auckland: The frequency will increase from 3 times a week to daily service with the A350. The A350, with a capacity of 339 seats, will replace the 306-seater aircraft from December 04, 2024, to February 03, 2025.
  3. Los Angeles to Brisbane: A new route launching with 3 times a week A350 service from December 04, 2024.
  4. Los Angeles to Shanghai: A350 service will resume with a frequency of 4 times a week starting on October 27, 2024.

Less or No A350s

As a result, other routes will experience decreased or no utilization of the A350. These routes include:

  1. Atlanta to Barcelona: The A350 will be replaced by the 767-400ER from January 7, 2025, to February 18, 2025. Overall frequency will decrease from 7 times a week to 5 times a week starting October 26, 2024.
  2. Atlanta to Dublin: Daily A350 service will be replaced by 4 times a week service with the 767-400ER from October 26, 2024, to January 04, 2025. The route will be suspended from January 05, 2025, to February 20, 2025, and then resume with daily 767-400ER flights until March 09, 2025, when the A350 will return.
  3. Atlanta to Madrid: The A350 will be replaced by the 767-400ER starting from December 03, 2024. Overall frequency will decrease from 7 times a week to 5 times a week from October 26, 2024.
  4. Atlanta to Rome Fiumicino: The daily A350 service [DL214/215] will be replaced by 3 times a week A330neo service starting from October 29, 2024. This flight will be suspended from January 05, 2025, to March 07, 2025.
  5. Los Angeles to Paris CDG: A350 service will be reduced from 7 times a week to 4 times a week starting October 26, 2024, further reducing to 3 times a week from January 11, 2025, to March 08, 2025.
  6. Los Angeles to Sydney: The second flight with the A350 will resume 4 times a week from December 05, 2024, instead of the previously planned daily service from October 27, 2024.

Delta Fleet and Configuration

As the pioneer in the United States to introduce the A350, the airline presently boasts a fleet of 29 A350-900 aircraft, each configured with two distinct cabin layouts.

Notably, the carrier’s nine 339-seater A350s, which are primarily affected by recent modifications, were procured from LATAM (LA).

These aircraft showcase 30 seats in business class and 309 in the economy, including 63 extra-legroom seats and 246 regular economy seats.
