Best Beaches in the World

After rigorous “research” (and questionable tan lines), we present the 2025 list of The World’s 10 Best Beaches.

The 2025 list is a culmination of countless days spent by our judges, Beach Ambassadors, and World’s 10 Beaches team exploring beaches all over the world.

We hope this list provides the inspiration you need to plan your next beach vacation – or at least gives you something pretty to look at while you’re stuck in traffic.

1. Cala Goloritzé, Italy

Tucked away on the eastern coast of Sardinia, Cala Goloritzé is Italy’s hidden gem that makes the Amalfi Coast look crowded. This pristine cove, accessible only by boat or a challenging two-hour hike, features towering limestone cliffs that rise dramatically from crystal-clear turquoise waters.

The beach earned UNESCO protection status, which means it’s practically untouched by the usual tourist chaos.

What makes this beach extraordinary is its 143-meter-tall rock spire called Aguglia, which serves as a natural monument for adventurous rock climbers.

The white pebble beach contrasts beautifully with the deep blue Mediterranean, creating a postcard-perfect scene that would make even your most cynical Instagram follower hit the heart button twice.

2. Entalula Beach, Philippines

Hidden within the Bacuit Archipelago of El Nido, Entalula Beach is the Philippines’ answer to tropical paradise. This secluded stretch of powdery white sand is surrounded by towering limestone karsts draped in emerald vegetation, creating a natural amphitheatre of beauty.

The lagoon’s shallow, crystal-clear waters make it perfect for snorkelling, where visitors can spot colourful reef fish dancing around vibrant coral formations.

What sets Entalula apart is its relative isolation – while El Nido draws crowds, this beach remains blissfully uncrowded due to its location on a private island accessible only through organised tours.

The beach offers excellent kayaking opportunities through hidden lagoons and secret passages carved into the limestone cliffs.

3. Bang Bao Beach, Thailand

Located on the southern tip of Koh Kood, Bang Tao Beach represents Thailand’s quieter, more sophisticated side. Unlike its party-loving cousins in Phuket or Koh Phi Phi, this four-kilometre stretch of golden sand offers tranquil luxury.

The beach is backed by coconut palms and high-end resorts that blend seamlessly with the natural environment.

What makes Bang Bao special is its incredibly calm waters – the bay’s protected location means virtually no waves, making it ideal for families with young children.

The western-facing orientation provides spectacular sunset views, while the nearby mangrove forests offer excellent opportunities for eco-tours and bird watching.

4. Fteri Beach, Greece

Kefalonia’s Fteri Beach is proof that Greece has more to offer than just the Mykonos and Santorini crowds.

This remote beach requires a 45-minute hike through rugged terrain, which effectively filters out casual visitors and rewards the adventurous with one of the Mediterranean’s most stunning coastal scenes.

The beach features dramatic white cliffs that contrast sharply with the deep blue Ionian Sea, while the pebbled shore provides comfortable seating for hours of contemplation.

Fteri remains completely undeveloped – no bars, no umbrellas, no vendors – just pure, unspoiled nature. The crystal-clear waters offer excellent snorkelling opportunities, and the surrounding landscape provides hiking trails with breathtaking panoramic views.

5. Pk 9 Beach, French Polynesia

Located on Moorea, just 17 kilometres from Tahiti, PK 9 Beach (named after its distance marker) embodies the ultimate South Pacific fantasy. This white-sand beach offers unobstructed views of Tahiti across the turquoise lagoon, with emerald mountains rising dramatically in the background.

The beach features perfect conditions for swimming, snorkelling, and kayaking, with calm lagoon waters protected by a coral reef. What makes PK 9 extraordinary is its accessibility combined with its beauty – unlike many remote Polynesian beaches, this one is easily reached by car or bus.

The nearby overwater bungalows and beachfront resorts provide luxury accommodations, while local food trucks offer fresh poisson cru and other Polynesian delicacies right on the sand.

6. Canto De La Playa, Dominican Republic

Saona Island’s Canto de la Playa represents the Caribbean at its most pristine. This secluded beach on the island’s eastern coast features blindingly white sand so fine it squeaks beneath your feet, contrasted against impossibly blue waters that seem almost artificial in their perfection.

Palm trees lean gracefully over the shore, providing natural shade, while the protected marine environment ensures excellent snorkelling with sea turtles, rays, and tropical fish.

What distinguishes Canto de la Playa is its virtual isolation – while other parts of Saona Island see day-trip crowds, this beach remains largely empty except for the occasional fishing boat. The natural pools formed by coral formations create perfect swimming spots for all ages.

7. Anse Source D’argent, Seychelles

La Digue’s Anse Source d’Argent is arguably the world’s most photographed beach, and for good reason. Giant granite boulders, sculpted by millions of years of erosion, create a surreal landscape that seems more like an alien planet than Earth.

These pink-tinted rocks frame small coves of pristine white sand and shallow, warm waters that glow with an ethereal blue-green light. The beach is protected by a coral reef, making the waters calm and safe for swimming.

What makes Anse Source d’Argent unique is its otherworldly beauty – the combination of massive boulders, pristine sand, and crystal-clear water creates endless opportunities for photography and exploration. The nearby L’Union Estate coconut plantation adds to the tropical ambience.

8. Nosy Iranja, Madagascar

Known as “Turtle Island,” Nosy Iranja consists of two small islands connected by a stunning white sand bridge that appears and disappears with the tides. Located off Madagascar’s northwest coast, this remote paradise offers some of the most pristine beaches in the Indian Ocean.

The sandbar connecting the islands creates a unique walking experience during low tide, while high tide transforms it into two separate islands.

Nosy Iranja is famous for its sea turtle nesting sites, where green and hawksbill turtles come ashore during nesting season.

The surrounding waters offer world-class diving with pristine coral reefs, diverse marine life, and excellent visibility. The island’s isolation means development is minimal, preserving its natural beauty and wildlife.

9. Ofu Beach, American Samoa

Part of the National Park of American Samoa, Ofu Beach represents Polynesia in its most untouched state. This crescent-shaped white sand beach stretches for two kilometres along the island’s southern shore, backed by lush tropical forest and dramatic volcanic peaks.

The coral reef just offshore creates perfect surfing conditions while protecting the beach from large swells.

What makes Ofu Beach exceptional is its pristine coral reef system – some of the healthiest in the Pacific – offering world-class snorkelling and diving with abundant marine life, including sea turtles, eagle rays, and colourful reef fish.

The beach sees very few visitors due to its remote location, making it feel like your own private paradise.

10. Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos

Grace Bay consistently ranks among the world’s best beaches for its perfect combination of natural beauty and accessibility. This 12-kilometre stretch of powdery white sand borders some of the clearest water you’ll ever see, with visibility often exceeding 30 metres.

The beach benefits from the protection of Princess Alexandra National Park, ensuring its preservation while still allowing the development of world-class resorts.

Grace Bay’s unique appeal lies in its perfect balance – stunning natural beauty, calm, clear waters ideal for swimming and water sports, excellent dining and accommodation options, and easy accessibility.

The nearby coral reef system provides excellent snorkelling, while the island’s infrastructure ensures comfort and convenience without compromising the pristine environment.
