Poland has the highest level of R1A1 in Europe, which is found among European Slavs in high frequencies. Polish males are about 56–60% R1A1. The regions in Poland with the highest levels of this marker are the South Eastern and Central parts of the country.
Polish males also carry around 16–20% R1B1, which is found in the highest levels in Western European populations. This could indicate Germanic ancestry, but also Celtic lineage. Also, it is possible that Slavs and Germanic’s co-inhabited the lands of modern Poland for longer than we might have thought. Indeed, some Germanic tribes, like the Vandals, could have been highly infused with Slavic influences, and might have a connection to the mysterious Venedi described by Tacitus(whom I believe are proto-Slavic).
So Germanic’s did not have to all leave the lands of modern day Poland before the Slavs came, and Slavs could have been residing in Poland for much longer than the standard theory postulates.
