FORT WORTH— American Airlines (AA) will end its seasonal nonstop service between Bermuda (BDA) and Washington, D.C. (DCA) on August 5, 2025. The route cancellation is part of the updated August flight schedule released by Skyport.

The carrier will also reduce its Miami (MIA) service from daily to five times per week starting August 11, though it will maintain daily connections to Charlotte (CLT), New York (JFK), and Philadelphia (PHL).

American Airlines Cuts Bermuda Flights

American Airlines’ (AA) decision to halt its Bermuda–Washington (DCA) service reflects a seasonal adjustment, with the last flight scheduled for August 5. The route was operated daily using an Airbus A319.

Flights to Miami (MIA) will continue but with reduced frequency. According to Skyport’s August schedule, there will be no inbound flights on August 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26, and no outbound flights on August 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, and 27. The Miami service typically operates with an A319 aircraft.

American Airlines will sustain daily flights from Bermuda (BDA) to Charlotte (CLT), New York (JFK), and Philadelphia (PHL), helping to preserve key U.S. connectivity despite route reductions elsewhere.

BermudAir Route Cuts and Adjustments

BermudAir (2T) will discontinue two routes entirely in early July—Fort Lauderdale (FLL) on July 5 and Providence (PVD) on July 6. The Fort Lauderdale service is set to become seasonal moving forward.

Despite these suspensions, BermudAir will maintain a strong presence in Bermuda’s skies:

  • Toronto (YYZ): Six weekly flights
  • Boston (BOS) & Westchester (HPN): Five weekly flights each
  • Baltimore (BWI): Three weekly flights (Mon, Wed, Fri)
  • Orlando (MCO), Halifax (YHZ), Raleigh-Durham (RDU), Hartford (BDL), Richmond (RIC), Charleston (CHS), Montreal (YUL): 1–2 weekly flights

This mixed-frequency schedule suggests a regional realignment aimed at better matching demand while preserving key North American access.

Other Airline Services Remain Stable

Skyport’s August 2025 schedule indicates no major changes among other carriers:

  • Air Canada (AC) will run five weekly flights to Toronto (YYZ) and a Saturday-only service to Montreal (YUL).
  • Delta Air Lines (DL) will operate four weekly flights to New York (JFK) and three weekly to Atlanta (ATL).
  • JetBlue (B6) maintains daily flights to both Boston (BOS) and New York (JFK).
  • United Airlines (UA) continues daily service to Newark (EWR).
  • British Airways (BA) retains its daily London Heathrow (LHR) connection.

Azores Service and Charter Flights Return

The Bermuda–Ponta Delgada (PDL) connection via Azores Airlines (S4) will operate on August 3 and August 17, with return flights on the same day. Four additional round-trip charter flights, arranged by Trip.bm, are scheduled between December 2025 and January 2026.

These seasonal services enhance Bermuda’s links to Europe and offer diversified travel options for residents and visitors alike, reported the Royal Gazette.
